Find Your Birthday in Pi: Million-Digit Search Tool

Type a birthday and discover whether, and where, those digits appear in the first million decimal places of π.

How to use this tool

  1. 1Enter a birthday or another short sequence; punctuation is removed, so 14/3 becomes 143.
  2. 2Search the first million decimal places of pi.
  3. 3Read the position and surrounding digits when the sequence is found.

What you can learn

  • Pi has infinitely many decimal places and does not repeat in a fixed pattern.
  • A short digit sequence may appear far into a long number.
  • The position counts how deep into pi the match begins.
