Multiplication visualizer

Build, flip and split multiplication facts, then practise the small set that still needs attention.

4
×
6
=24

4 × 6 = 6 × 4 (same answer!)

6121824

4 times 6 equals 24

How to use this tool

  1. 1Choose two factors and view the fact as equal groups, an array or jumps on a number line.
  2. 2Flip the factors or split one factor into two easier parts to see why the product stays the same.
  3. 3Cross off fact families you understand, then practise the smaller set that remains.

What you can learn

  • Multiplication describes equal groups and rectangular arrays.
  • Flipping the factors changes the arrangement but not the product.
  • A difficult fact can be split into easier known facts and recombined.
